After School Program

The Eureka City Schools After School Programs are funded by a grant from the California Department of Education as part of the After School Education and Safety (ASES) program. The program is FREE and is open to students in grades K-8. Since space is limited, check with your school site for available spots. Priority for enrollment in the program is based on the following factors: foster and homeless youth status, student academic need, family financial need, and parent work schedules. An effort is made to keep siblings in the same household enrolled together. Currently enrolled students must reapply each year.

We are open from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 p.m. We offer homework help time, which coordinates with the regular day studies. Each day a variety of academic enrichment activities, games and sports are offered - plus we provide a healthy meal through the Supper Program provided by the Eureka City Schools Central Kitchen. The ASES program is a safe place for children, with positive, caring adults as role models, and educational as well as enrichment activities. Please come and take a look. The program is offered at Alice Birney Elementary, Grant Elementary, Lafayette Elementary, Washington Elementary, Winship Middle School and Zane Middle Schools.
